Privacy Policy

This policy explains what Leblebi ("the app") does with data. It was written against what the app's code actually does, and every claim in it is checkable against the source.

The short version

Leblebi has no account of its own, never asks you to type your name or email, and contains no analytics or crash-reporting service. Your puzzle progress is stored on your device.

Two optional things involve other companies: advertising, and Google Play Games if you choose to sign in. If you do sign in, the app shows your Play Games name on your own Home and Account screens and backs up your progress to your Google account — and sends neither to anyone.

What Leblebi stores on your device

The app saves your game progress locally so you can close it and come back. That save contains:

• which puzzle you are on, your points total, and how many puzzles you have completed
• which days you completed the daily puzzle
• the puzzle you are part-way through, including words found and hints used
• your settings: language, the sound level, haptics on/off, background motion, which ambient sound you chose, whether reminders are on and at what time
• which of the game's one-time tips you have already seen

It contains no name, no email address, no contacts, no location, and no device identifier.

Puzzles and dictionary definitions are included inside the app, so playing does not require an internet connection and nothing about which words you look up is ever transmitted.

Google Play Games Services — optional

If you sign in to Google Play Games, the app uses it for two purposes.

1. Backing up your progress. The save described above is written to Google's Saved Games, so your progress survives a lost or replaced phone. Only that progress data is read and written.

2. Showing you who is signed in. The Home and Account screens display your Play Games display name, exactly as you set it. It is:

• never written to your save file, on the device or in the cloud
• never sent anywhere by the app — not to the developer, not to the ad services, not to anyone
• held in memory only, read fresh each time you open the app and gone when you close it

If you are not signed in, the app shows no name. It never asks you to sign in to continue.

The app does not read your profile photo, your friends list, your achievements, or your email address.

Signing in is optional. Declining it costs you cloud backup and the name on the screen, and nothing else. Play without an account on the Account screen sets the account aside on this device; Delete account erases your progress on this device and the copy in your Google account, and then sets the account aside.

Google's handling of your Play Games account is governed by Google's Privacy Policy.

Advertising

Leblebi is free and shows ads. There are two places: a full-screen ad after finishing a puzzle, and an optional video you can choose to watch in exchange for a hint. You are never required to watch an ad to keep playing.

Ads are delivered by Unity LevelPlay (ironSource mediation), by Unity Technologies — privacy policy.

LevelPlay chooses between several ad networks, and the app ships the adapter for each of them. Any of these may serve an ad and may therefore receive the data listed below:

The app also includes Google's User Messaging Platform for the consent prompt and Google's advertising-identifier library. Google Mobile Ads is present for that consent flow rather than to serve ads of its own.

These services may process:

• your device's Advertising ID, a resettable identifier you control in Android Settings
• device and app information — model, operating system version, language, and country
• your IP address, from which an approximate region may be inferred
• which ads you were shown and whether you interacted with them

This is used to select ads, to limit how often the same ad repeats, to measure whether ads worked, and to detect fraud. Leblebi itself never receives this data, and the app's own developer sees only aggregate earnings reports.

You can reset or delete your Advertising ID at any time in Android Settings under Privacy → Ads. Deleting it stops personalised advertising; the app will still work.

Consent, where the law requires it

Where the GDPR, UK GDPR or similar law applies, the app shows Google's User Messaging Platform consent form before any ad service starts, and asks you to choose. You can reopen that choice at any time from the app's Settings screen.

Withdrawing takes effect immediately. If you reopen that choice and decline, the app stops requesting ads there and then, for the rest of the session and every session after it, rather than waiting until you next open it.

If you decline, no ads are requested at all. Because hints are funded by an optional video, declining also means hints are unavailable — the same position a player without an internet connection is in. Nothing else about the game changes.

Reminders

Settings has a reminder switch, off by default. Switched on, the app schedules one notification a day on your device, at the time you choose, saying that today's daily puzzle is waiting. It is scheduled locally, uses no server, and sends nothing anywhere.

Permissions

Leblebi requests two Android permissions of its own:

• VIBRATE — the small tap you feel when you touch a control. You can switch it off in Settings. It works entirely on your device and sends nothing anywhere.
• POST_NOTIFICATIONS — the reminder above, only if you switch it on.

Network access comes from the advertising and Play Games components described above.

Children

Leblebi is a word and dictionary game and contains no content directed at children, no chat, and no way for players to contact each other. It is not knowingly directed at children under 13, and the developer does not knowingly collect personal information from them.

Data deletion

• On your device: uninstalling Leblebi removes the local save.
• In the cloud: if you used Play Games, Delete account on the app's Account screen erases the saved game in your Google account along with the local copy; or delete the app's Play Games data from your Google account at Google Play Games data.
• Advertising: reset or delete your Advertising ID in Android Settings.
